Mike Higgins has over 30 years of experience guiding business development, operational, and marketing processes for sports organizations and governing bodies at the collegiate and professional levels. Most recently, Mike served as the Director of Championships for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). He brings a wealth of sports administration knowledge to his role as Regional General Manager for The Sports Facilities Companies.
As Regional General Manager, Mike oversees the operations and performance of multiple venues in his assigned region. He leads a highly skilled team through all facets of facility operations, ensuring that best practices are implemented for customer service and operational processes. Mike is responsible for guiding business development and staff development initiatives, leveraging his extensive experience in sports administration to drive financial growth and enhance community engagement. His role involves mentoring teams, fostering strategic partnerships, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize venue performance and achieve sustained success. With over 30 years of experience in guiding business development, operational, and marketing processes for sports organizations, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge to his role, ensuring that each venue under his purview delivers exceptional experiences for audiences and athletes alike.
While at the NAIA, Mike led initiatives to improve student-athlete experience at national championships and he oversaw the iconic NAIA Men’s Basketball Championship serving as Tournament Director and greatly improving the financial viability of the event. Higgins career in sports also includes serving as General Manager of minor-league baseball teams and spearheading the return of minor league baseball and professional soccer to Portland, Oregon with a nearly $40 million renovation of the downtown stadium.
