What Are The FF&E Needs Of Your Fitness Center

FF&E Needs For Your Fitness Center

FF&E needs for your fitness center
If you are the facility manager at a fitness or community center, FF&E is among the first things that you will have to evaluate. Every fitness center has individual needs for their specific customer base.
In today’s post, SFA will look at the FF&E needs of a fitness center. We will also break down the foundational and supplemental needs of your facility so that you can prioritize appropriately.

Foundational Elements

The most obvious foundational FF&E element to a fitness center is the exercise equipment. You won’t have a successful gym without exercise equipment. In your role, it’s important to look at the cost-effectiveness of each piece of equipment or machine in the long term. For instance, machines are a nice amenity, but a squat rack is irreplaceable. You don’t want to be outdated, but you also don’t want to get rid of foundational equipment.
It also goes without saying that having nice equipment is a major draw for your fitness center. If you provide your customers with more and better equipment than the competitors, you are going to see real results.

Supplemental Elements

A fitness center without weights, machines, and squat racks won’t survive. However, a fitness center with only weights, machines, and squat racks isn’t very likely to succeed. Weightlifters will come to your facility to lift weights, but they will choose your facility based on the amenities you offer. As far as FF&E, there are a number of different elements that will have an impact.
Providing places to rest, like benches and couches, will be an added bonus for tired lifters. On top of that, having locker rooms and lounges with nice furniture will make your facility more appealing than your competitors’.

Other Elements

One FF&E consideration that many fitness centers forget about is office elements. You might be a fitness center, but you need a place to do paperwork and organize files. When sorting through all the furniture needs of your facility, don’t forget to carve out a functional office space for you and your employees.
