DuPage County is the second largest county in Illinois, with nearly 930,000 residents living in the County and 39 municipalities. Due to demand for sports tourism facilities and events in the area, the DuPage County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) recognized the need for the County to have a sports tourism master plan.

SFA worked with the CVB to refine its desired outcomes, evaluate the demand for sports and recreation facilities, develop a gap analysis for facilities, and create an economic impact projection for sports tourism asset types. SFA’s study was used to support additional conversations related to locations and facility concepts, to validate studies and development plans throughout the county, and as one of the drivers of the creation of the DuPage County Sports Commission.

Industry City Ice Rink

Romulus Athletic Center is a spacious, year-round community sports and fitness facility in Romulus, Michigan, offering extensive amenities across multiple areas. The center features a well-equipped fitness area with state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, a multi-court gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and pickleball, and a comprehensive aquatics complex with five pools, including a zero-depth splash pool, lazy river, water slide, lap pool, and spa. Additional offerings include a 23-foot rock climbing wall, an indoor elevated walking/running track, rentable banquet and party rooms.
