Dupage County, Illinois

DuPage County is the second largest county in Illinois, with nearly 930,000 residents living in the County and 39 municipalities. Due to demand for sports tourism facilities and events in the area, the DuPage County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) recognized the need for the County to have a sports tourism master plan.

SFA worked with the CVB to refine its desired outcomes, evaluate the demand for sports and recreation facilities, develop a gap analysis for facilities, and create an economic impact projection for sports tourism asset types. SFA’s study was used to support additional conversations related to locations and facility concepts, to validate studies and development plans throughout the county, and as one of the drivers of the creation of the DuPage County Sports Commission.
