Rita Mitchell is a veteran ice facility operations executive with more than 30 years of experience leading arena management, multi-venue oversight, and guest experience initiatives across the East Coast. Having worked in nearly every position within an ice rink, she brings a ground-up understanding of what makes a facility operationally sound, financially successful, and deeply connected to its community.
As Regional General Manager for The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC), Rita oversees a diverse portfolio of venues within her assigned region, guiding teams to deliver world-class events and experiences for athletes, families, and fans. She develops strategic plans to optimize venue performance, leads budget management and marketing initiatives that drive sustainable revenue growth, and fosters a culture of exceptional customer service and community engagement at every facility she supports.
Throughout her career, Rita has served as Regional Manager for multiple ice facilities, as General Manager of the practice facility of the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and as General Manager of Montclair State University Ice Arena. In these roles, she has launched and grown impactful programming such as partnerships with the New York Rangers, Monarchs special needs programming, university credit courses, and student internship opportunities. With a broad background in food & beverage, sales, marketing, and financial stewardship, Rita’s leadership consistently maximizes venue performance while strengthening each facility’s role as a hub for community life and lifelong memories on the ice.
