With more than 25 years of experience across live events, broadcast operations, and sports destination management, Rick Abbott has built a career at the intersection of operational excellence and the guest experience. A five-time Emmy Award winner, he brings a leadership philosophy rooted in collaboration, financial discipline, and the belief that great operations are ultimately about people. As Vice President, Venue Management at The Sports Facilities Companies, he applies that philosophy, overseeing strategy and operations across a national portfolio of sports, recreation, and entertainment destinations.
In this role, Rick focuses on operational performance, revenue diversification, and building scalable systems that enhance profitability and guest experience. He draws on a track record of driving measurable growth, including increasing team registrations and double-digit EBITDA during his tenure as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Customer Experience at Cooperstown All Star Village under Unrivaled Sports.
Prior to Cooperstown, Rick served as COO of Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, home of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, where he helped double EBITDA while overseeing operations for Formula 1, NASCAR, IndyCar, MotoGP, concerts, and large-scale live events. He also held senior executive roles at NBCUniversal, directing operations for Rockefeller Center and marquee productions, and at ESPN, where he served as VP of Global Operations, overseeing more than 14,000 live events annually.
