Rita Mitchell has been in the ice facility industry for over 30 years. Having worked each position in an ice rink over that time, she has learned from the ground up what makes a rink successful. She has served as Regional Manager, overseeing multiple rinks simultaneously for several ice facilities across the East Coast, and served previously as the General Manager of the practice facility of the Washington Capitals of the NHL. She now serves as the General Manager of the Montclair State University Ice Arena.
In her current role, she works closely with the University to operate the facility to meet the needs of the students, administration, and local community groups. Important programming initiatives Rita has implemented include partnerships with the New York Rangers, Monarchs special needs programming, credit courses for the University, and student internships.
Having a vast background in food & beverage, sales, marketing, and financial responsibility, Ms. Mitchell’s strengths play an integral role in maximizing results.
